Smiles were rampant at this wedding, but not just in the usual way — these two have taken quite the detour to get this point. High school sweethearts who did not marry, moved on, followed separate paths, with different people and experienced the first part of their adult lives without each other.

On May 16th they were reunited, officially, as they pledged their vows to each other under the cover of a beautiful barn-like community center in Durham. Complete with a purple and silver Harley and a real pig, it was as real as it gets.

Now adults, they bring shared memories to their marriage. As we watched him wait for her, a smile absolutely plastered on his face, waiting for this moment for so long, you could all but feel the mirrored expression on her face as she started the walk down the aisle with her father and flower girl in tow.

Sometimes, you just have to work with what you have and the littlest member of the wedding party preferred to be walked down.

With family and friends watching from the tables, set wonderfully with butterflies, candles and the pastel colors that they’d chosen for the day, Jenny & Ronnie pledge themselves to each other, permanently this time. 😉
