Kidzpiks, a new children’s photography studio which opened in January 2008 will feature photographic backdrops designed by Laura Kelly Designs. The backgrounds will be used in the Apex studio of Kidzpiks beginning in May 2008. “There will be ten backgrounds in all, designed by Laura Kelly of Laura Kelly Designs,” says Kidzpiks owner Aimee Bickers. All of the backgrounds feature the unique artwork and style that has made Laura Kelly a household name. “They are not your average photography studio backgrounds. They are vibrant, bold, fun and made just for kids,” says Aimee.

The license agreement between the two companies provides Kidzpiks with ten unique backgrounds, exclusively for the Apex location of Kidzpiks. “In discussing the need to have something completely different for her new children’s photography line Kidzpiks, Aimee approached me about using our artwork. I don’t know of any other licensing artists with my childlike style designing for photography backgrounds, so it was a great opportunity. I am always searching for ways that my art can inspire, uplift and create fun! When Aimee approached me about licensing for her studio, I was honored. The backdrops are an exciting extension of my portfolio and will create lots of smiles, giggles and joy. I am excited about working with Aimee not only because she is creative and talented, but also because the combination of my artistic talents matched with hers creates a dynamically fresh approach to photography,” says Laura.

The backgrounds will be acquired over the course of a year, to coincide with the introduction of certain holidays and seasons. “We’ve started with a pink striped background made just for girls. We’ll add a blue strip for boys, summer, fall, winter, spring, Halloween, Christmas, Valentines and Easter,” says Aimee.
