Vagina Monologues
Yes, that is the correct title. A group of women from the area took the opportunity to bring a bit of the “big city” to Apex with the presentation of the Vagina Monologues. The play is aptly titled. While not a show for the ultra shy or extremely conservative, the show isn’t about sex, pornography or anything particularly politically incorrect. Just the opposite in fact. It’s about women, their plights, their fears, their happiness, their struggles, their tortures, their dependencies, their innocence and their strength.
I have never been more humbled to be photographing an event that during this Saturday night event. It was truly … amazing.
There is a full gallery online that is open to anyone to viewing. Any purchases from the gallery will help support VDay … as 10% of the proceeds will be donated back. The only caveat? The gallery will only be online through March 31st and then will automatically be removed. But the blog photos here, will remain.
To the Apex women who participated … kudos! You’ve broken a mold. You’ve opened doors. You’ve knocked ’em dead.
The show’s Producer and the one to say … “Let’s do this in Apex”
Ok, so it’s a play about women, done by women. Do you THINK then there wouldn’t be a plethora of makeup on set? 🙂

The cast … but not all the supporting crew. They were all there in mind, body and spirit.
Something about … hair?
Yeah … there. 😉
I feel just a little better too!
Um …
Facts … not fiction. Go Texas!
One of my favorite shots. The colors for VDay are red and black. Awfully symbolic, don’t you think?
Tears of sorrow.
Tears and fears and growth and encouragement.
Words we never say … but do we think?
Tears of laughter. Oooooooooooooooh yeah. 😉
Finale. You go girls!
