Are all nail techs experts on eyebrows? ‘Cause they all ask if I want mine waxed. Um ….

No?

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not a trendy sort of girl. I’m not the type to pluck my eyebrows out until I have paint them back in.

That would be …

weird.

But EVERY time … and I mean EVERY TIME I go to a nail salon for a manicure or pedicure … I get asked.

I mean, we’re there, not chatting because I can’t understand them anyway … and out of the blue comes:

“You want eyebrow shape?”

Usually, because I’m constantly startled by the question and the fact the person opposite me has spoken to me, it takes a few seconds for me to 1) figure out what they asked and 2) that they didn’t just ask me about sheep and 3) to respond with my usual ‘no, thank you.’

To which they often cock their heads as if my answer is just plain wrong.

Yes, really! (I cannot make this stuff up, people!)

I’ve even had a hair dresser ask me once. Needless to say I did not ever go back to her. 🙂

I do NOT have a unibrow, so what’s up with this trend to make eyebrows smaller? They are there for a reason, right? To keep sweat from going straight from forehead to eyeballs when … say … running or walking or exercising in general.

They separate eye sockets from forehead.

They add color to an otherwise bland colored face (in my case, I’m either white or black which, oddly enough, is the same color as all my animals. I’m sensing a pattern here).

But you see, I could not care less about the trends of plucking, waxing, shaving and coloring back in eyebrows.

They have a purpose, dammit, and I’m going to let mine be.

How about you? Are you constantly asked if you’d like your brows shaped? If you were, what shape would you choose? Normal? Mickey Mouse? I mean, really … they’re just eyebrows.
