About the front:
I LOVE this new cover. Granted I liked the old cover because of the mystery, but knowing the story, this cover totally steals the thunder from the old one. There’s mystery, there’s curiosity, there’s darkness, there’s light. The wolf is a huge element in Darkness & Light and the running girl in the back could reflect Jem running from the wolf (which she does) or into the forest (which she does) or away from the bad guy(s) (which she does) … or so many things. I love the colors, the deep blues and blacks and that one brighter spot in the back. Is that the proverbial ‘light at the end of the tunnel?’ 🙂

It’s my understanding that this cover was changed to be more in line with Blue Moon and future covers, so I’m all for the change. I think it seriously rocks and reflects the story even better than the old cover.

Now let’s look at what the back says:

Jem Stonehouse, a housewife with a neurotic husband bent on keeping her in line, dreams about werewolves in, what she believes, is a bid to escape boredom.

Sean Holloway is a werewolf, living a charade within the human race, whose mind drifts to a bond he shares with a woman he hasn’t met — at least, not in this lifetime.

Apart, the two are safe but live unfulfilled lives.

Together, they’ll become prey to rival packs just as they have been for hundreds of years.

Since I already know this story, this little tie-in part will be more to see if word by word, there’s a connection.

I’m glad that the wolf and girl are separate and not even facing each other. If they were (or worse, if she was petting him or something) it would totally ruin the moment they come together. 😉

All these things are great ‘what if he doesn’t’ elements and with her running away, it makes me think he might just fail.

Will I read it?
I already have. Twice. In this case, I might just read it … again!
