Rejection goes from rejected to accepted!

I have been waiting for this day. 🙂 Yes, I’ve been published in a couple magazines and the newspaper. This though? It’s altogether different.

Hello!

Thank you for your submission, The Tao of Rejection. I liked this article and would like to include it in an upcoming issue of Vision. Attached is a copy of our contract.

If you would like to be paid via PayPal, please let me know via email (with the address for the payments) and I will pay you immediately. PayPal is the best choice at this point.

Thank you for the wonderful submission, and I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

And if you have any questions, let me know.

PAID! Do you see the difference in what I’ve done before and this? It’s a paid-for gig! Yes! This is the first, official, paid-for piece of writing that I’ve done.

My other work has been in exchange or for the experience — which I most definitely wanted and am SO thankful to have been given (I’m beyond thankful). But this?

I sent in my piece with a query and a hope.

A month (ish) later, it came back ACCEPTED! This is one of the greatest feelings a writer can get.

Sure, I can only buy a Big Mac with the payment, but that’s not the point. The POINT is that it was selected as a piece … from the slush pile … by an editor … for publication!

It wasn’t rejected!

An article on rejection, of all things, has been accepted!

I am soooooooooooooooooooo excited!! Not that you couldn’t tell.

🙂

Woohoo!
