Announcement | The time for change has come
No skipping to the end … it’s vitally important that if you start, you read it all.
I’ve watched this fall as the colors crept their way through the tree-lined landscape of North Carolina — different than in past years. Instead of a blend, the oranges and yellows fell before the reds fully engaged. Could nature be at work in tandem with the mood of the economy, our industry and personal factors? An adjustment during a known time of change?
That’s how I see it at least.
And, it’s the impetus for my announcement.
In five years, I’ve learned a lot from my work as an artist, the photography industry and the value of satisfaction in the lives of those I’ve worked with. In that time, I’ve found that my personal goals, expectations and desires haven’t always been attained.
I tried. I failed some. I learned tons.
After soul searching, consideration and a whole lot of prayer, I’ve concluded that it’s time to return to my photographic roots.
So, as of December 31, 2009, Pure Expressions Photography will cease to exist.
Whoa, you say! What does this mean?
Actually, in the words of one of my five year old daughters. “This is the best day ever!”
I am an incredibly versatile photographer. I can work in a studio, with lights, outside, in the sun and in the shade. I can pose, wait, manipulate, post-process and teach. If you aren’t one of my own kids, I have the patience of a saint and can work with just about anyone. I know the science behind photography.
Now, it’s time for me to backtrack – to return to the art of photography.
So, on January 1, 2010 a new me will launch. A me that focuses more on my art — through design, imagination, expression and the relationships I have with those that choose me to document their lives.
My excitement has nearly burst free a number of times in the past weeks as we began the transition. New name. New logo. New colors. Website. Email. Letterhead. Business Cards. All of it new and all of it so that I can better create for you.
I thank you for your support over the last five years and look forward to what the next five will bring.
