Pure Expressions Photography to host its 2nd annual photos-for-canned goods exchange

Apex, NC – October 2, 2009 – Local photography studio, Pure Expressions Photography, will host its 2nd annual photos-for-canned goods food drive October 17, 2009 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Apex studio.

In exchange for ten (10) canned goods or items from the most needed list at Western Wake Crisis Ministries, Pure Expressions Photography will donate one 4×6 print — to be chosen by the studio.

In 2008, the studio donated over three hundred pounds of food to Western Wake Crisis Ministries in response to its photos-for-canned goods exchange.

“We were excited to be able to provide the food and other items and hope this year to double or triple that donation,” says Aimee Bickers, owner of Pure Expressions Photography. As part of the food drive, costumed kids (with their parents) may visit the studio from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 17th.

“Goblins, witches, ladybugs. We had them all last year and look forward to seeing all the great costumes again this year. In addition to the food that this generates for the Crisis Ministry, it’s great to use a costume more than just once,” adds Aimee.

Photographs can be taken of any age child, including infants. Families with multiple children should bring the appropriate number of canned goods per child.

Parents are encouraged to dress in costume or wear or bring solid black for themselves. “If a child is scared, having a parent in the photo is fine. If dressed in black, they’ll blend easily with the set,” suggests Aimee. “And we know that kids can worry when they only have a minute or two to acclimate,” she adds.
