A Message from Aimee
feetMy girls (yes, plural and yes twins) started dance class a month or so ago. It’s been an interesting experience, one I hear great things about right up until the time they strap on their tap shoes. Then, the moods hit and their desire to dance all the sudden shifts. Mood swing perhaps? Or missing Mommy? Not sure.

With the start of their dance class, I have begun to take Friday mornings off and it’s our Mommy-girl morning of dance and lunch. So if you see two girls in matching pink leotards at one of the many fast food restaurants around Apex on a Friday around 11:30 am, that’s us. Feel free to stop and say ‘hi’! You’ll get four big blue/green eyes looking back at you in response.

Always a joy,
Aimee

An Honor and a Blessing
awardWow! We were honored and blessed last night (September 30th) with the 2008 Small Business of the Year award from the Apex Chamber of Commerce. Talk about surprise, awe and emotion.

Um. Wow!

Thank goodness I bought myself one killer dress, new shoes and some “extras”. What I figured would just be a fun night out with my husband and my business “colleagues” in our little Town of Apex, turned into a night of big surprises!

The Gift of Portraits
marley1marley2This past month, we helped Marley’s Cat Tales — an animal rescue and education group that is part of The Marley Fund — with their 2009 calendar. You’d think a calendar shoot with cats and dogs would be … well … boring? Um … well it wasn’t. As some know, we had quite a bit of fun. If these guys were in your studio, you’d enjoy every minute, wouldn’t you?

You can see all 13 images in the 2009 calendar that will be published and available in Nov/Dec 2008! We’ll have a few copies at the studio ourselves.

Web & Newsletter Changes
webchangeYou’re probably thinking that there just can’t possibly be more change. But isn’t change reality? We might as well keep making it!

kidzpiksActually, we’re simplifying. Kidzpiks is part of Pure Expressions Photography and therefore, we’re blending them. The blogs are integrated now. The online galleries are integrated. The specials are together. The Moving Moment poll is going to be shared — and after this October, changed up a bit.

Instead of featuring just one family, we’re going to open it up to featuring all sorts of special people — families, kids, brides, grooms, whomever would like to share about themselves.

And the final change (at least for now) is that it’ll be one newsletter, not two! Yeah!

The unique details about each service will remain separated, but for the ongoing updates, just check out the blog, it’ll have it all!

Moving Moment
mm10Calendar Girl! Meet Miss September. She hails from California, but has found her place here in NC with Mom and Dad!

This little blondie had quite a bit of fun during her first birthday — indulging in quite a bit of sugary sweetness — not like she needed one bit of it — she was sweet herself!

Happy birthday and thanks for being our Moving Moment for August!

recycle

Reduce.Reuse. Recycle.

We recycle. Individually, our family puts anything that conforms to the Apex recyclable list, into our weekly recycling box. Cardboard boxes from the studio as well as plastic cups, the infamous water bottles and any other recyclable item are taken home and placed in the same box. Every week, out it all goes. It’s certainly just a small action, but like they say (whomever “they” is) … it only takes one person to make a difference.
