2008 Small Biz of the Year!
At the 2008 Apex Chamber of Commerce awards ceremony held at Prestonwood Country Club, September 30, 2008, Pure Expressions Photography was awarded the 2008 Small Business of the Year award for “Exceptional Support of the Apex Community.”
The award, presented first during that portion of the night’s events, was one of approximately ten awards given to the Apex business community; specifically among the 600+ business and private members of the Apex Chamber of Commerce.
Awards are held in secrecy until the night’s event. “As Jaclyn Asztalos (the awards ceremony emcee) began reading the description of the winner of the Small Business of the Year, my heart started pounding,” says Aimee Bickers, owner of Pure Expressions Photography. “From the first words out of her mouth, I realized it was our company she was talking about; to the point that it was a bit surreal. As she continued talking about our accomplishments — things we just do every day without even thinking about it — it gave me one tiny glimpse into what others see of us and it made me extremely proud,” added Bickers.
The award caps a wonderful year of awards for Pure Expressions Photography, including Aimee Bickers’ award as the first ever Volunteer of the Month in April 2008 for her work with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, an infant bereavement photography organization and most recently, in July 2008, the studio’s win of “Best Kept Secret in Western Wake” in the Cary News’ reader’s poll.
