NILMDTS article in the N&O

On July 8, 2008 by Aimee

As many of you know, I (Aimee) am part of an amazing organization out of Colorado called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTs – www.nilmdts.org). We are a group of photographers who give of our talent to families facing the loss of an child — particularly infants. Our goal is simple — to produce memories for families that will sustain them or help them when their beautiful infants are no longer a part of this world.

For the last 8+ months, a News & Observer reported (Matt Ehlers) has been in touch with our group trying to find the right family to “kick off” the story — to set the emotional tone and allow him to be a part of the experience, not just the second hand knowledge. A couple months ago, we were introduced to a Holly Springs family and the story really got started.

Through the Pearce Family, the Lutche-Dunn Family and the Hurley Family, the story of NILMDTS and it’s exceptional giving right here in the Triangle, has been told.

I invite you to grab a tissue and read the article today …

Thank you to all of you that support NILMDTS. Your encouragement, financial support, emotional support — all of it allows us to give back to these families.

And thank you to the News & Observer (especially Matt) for being open and willing to write this story! It will never be forgotten!
